Artist and instructor Ciro Sannino has released an interesting short tutorial explaining how artists can improve a scene's lighting using Photoshop.
Post-production in renderings generally focuses on tonal and color correction. But this time I want to talk to you about how to emphasize certain shadows to give greater strength to the DIRECTION OF LIGHT!

In this type of post-production applying a curve to increase the contrast is not enough: here we must apply concepts of Chiaroscuro: gradients and steps.
As you can notice, in these corners the "steps" (= relevant variation of light amount) are not very pronounced. Usually, it depends on the space and the way how the light bounces around.
