Thanks, it is indeed a bump map. It was made by a pretty standard process. I took a oak texture into photoshop and through black/white, curves, & exposure made a bump of only the grain.

I just love the bumping (or displacement maybe) of the wood.
Would you please let me know how you made the bump/displace texture and the material?
