Thanks guys - you're right, the background could be better. Though one aspect I would try to keep is the imposing feeling they give. About 50% of the way through the project (and 80% to the deadline :)) I started thinking maybe I should have gone for a smaller vista.

The concept of "I was going for a representation of the constant destruction and subsequent rebuilding that goes on in cities." is really good and interesting other then that i agree with John Pauls' remark on the background. Image is great in composition grts

Cool concept and nice render, very oppressive - reminds me of London. Id have put the city background together differently to sell it better, looks a little like its been done quickly in post.

This was my (better) entry for Ronen Bekerman's City Life contest. I was going for a representation of the constant destruction and subsequent rebuilding that goes on in cities.

A secondary theme was the idea of searching for your comfortable place in the midst of that change, which is where the apartment comes in.

The layout was inspired by the river intersection in Chicago near Wells & Wacker, although the buildings themselves aren't necessarily meant to represent actual buildings.
